Since the lack of driver and vehicle visibility is a great disadvantage in successful fleet management Telargo developed a solution that allows real-time positioning and tracking of a single or multiple vehicles, accurately displaying their locations on digital maps along with the routes traveled and its detailed historical analysis.
Vehicle position is gathered every second and sent automatically to the Control Center by the Telargo On-Board Unit eitherat pre-scheduled intervals (usually every 5 minutes, in cases of public transport every 30 seconds, etc.) or instantly, when a vehicle- and driver-related event occurs. In case of tracking the information is obtained in real time and forwarded immediately. All information acquired and recorded by the Telargo System is linked with its position and time information.
User customable view:
- Vehicle information display (speed, RPM, score, etc.)
- Location information display (Customer Location, etc.)
- User-defined map views
- Full screen view (multi-screen support)

Current positions and vehicle information of the selected vehicles
With critical real-time information at their fingertips, fleet managers can make quick, efficient decisions that result in improved business operations.
Detailed Historical Analysis
Telargo service provides fleet managers with a comprehensive real-time vehicle positions as well as historic trips, accurate odometer readings, driver details, vehicle related events such as the number of stops and time between trips, etc. which contribute to a rich and integrated route / stop analysis.
Historical analysis lets you review trips, stops, events, etc. in detail:
- Trip analysis based on driver, miles, speed, score, etc.
- Stop analysis based on length of stops
- Event analysis based on time and location of any events (log-in/out, messaging, etc.)
- Sensor value analysis based on sensor readings (PTO, engine on/off, etc.)

Detailed Trip Analysis with its start and end times, location, etc.
Industry-leading accuracy and reliability
To improve GPS positioning in urban areas (tunnels, garage, multi-floor roads, etc.) and eliminate “Time to first position Fix”, a Gyroscope is used. It improves accuracy for crossroads detection and course changing and eliminates GPS multi-paths problem (visible “virtual” satellites that contribute to fault positions).
Data forwarding
Location and vehicle information that is obtained every second is compressed and stored in Telargo On Board Unit’s local memory. In this compressed state the information is forwarded to Telargo center at pre-set frequency as mentioned before. If primary communication channel (usually GPRS) is not available for certain period back-up channel (usually SMS) is used to send the critical real-time information. All information is forwarded when the primary channel becomes available so no data is lost.
Detailed information on route / stop and event map view level are stored in Telargo Control Center for 3 months. Summary information on overview and report level are stored for 5 years, however any older information could also be available for customers upon request with additional charge.
