Temperature Controlled Transportation
For Temperature Controlled Transportation, Telargo connects up to 8 separate temperature sensors and door sensors enabling operators to accurately monitor the cargo environment conditions during transportation and immediately detect temperature variations or door opening events. Utilization of multiple temperature sensors allows for effective diagnosing of cooling compartment inefficiencies and enables considerable service quality improvements through longitudinal analysis of temperature data.

Temperature sensor
Temperature sensors are used in commercial vehicles transporting perishable food or other temperature-sensitive goods. This allows you to monitor the quality and condition of transported goods in order to comply with food safety standards known as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). Up to eight sensors can be connected to an I2C connector to track the temperature for several points within the vehicle’s payload compartment. These sensors then transfer data to the Telargo Fleet Center.

Temperature sensor

This temperature report shows the change of temperature in selected time intervals for three installed temperature sensors. Each temperature sensor is color-coded on the graph.

Door sensors
The door sensors are used to control access to the cargo compartment, through control-of-door degree level. This information is gathered with geo and time stamp. In combination with temperature sensors, important information explaining temperature fluctuations are gathered.

Telargo offers two types of door sensors:

  • Accelerometer switch which is connected to the Telargo On-Board Unit’s Input/Output connector. It detects the angle between 0 and 90 degrees and signals if the loading ramp is opened or closed depending on that angle. In combination with geo-fencing this gives you important information on the status of your vehicle. If the loading ramp is opened somewhere off the schedule, you will be timely informed with an exception notification.

Accelerometer switch

  • Reed switch is connected to the Telargo On-Board Unit the same way as accelerometer switch. A connection is made when a magnet is in detection range and is broken when the magnet is moved out of this range. Public transport companies use this door sensor for obtaining accurate arrival and departure information.
