Telargo Service provides the real time “proof of delivery” to empower clients and their consignees with the ability to gain real-time visibility into the delivery cycle - from the time goods leave the warehouse to when they are delivered to the customer.
Proof of delivery (POD) can be realized through:
-
Electronic signature capture – Telargo Service can be easily integrated with a PDA or similar handheld device and thus can capture proof of delivery information entered into the device. Receivers sign for the goods on the driver's PDA or similar device, and this data is sent automatically from the On Board Unit to the Fleet Center and is available to all partners in the chain in real time.
-
Barcode/RFID data capture – Telargo Service can seamlessly integrate with the barcode or RFID scanners to provide accurate tracking of consignments from the point of dispatch through the delivery point. Users scan packages and immediately provide information confirming a successful delivery.
-
Location-based POD management – Arrival/departure to and from a delivery or task location is detected using user configurable geo-zones within the location management of logistic application, which allows users to define a certain area as a location thus enabling location detection even for large depots and warehouses.
Upon completion of delivery, the driver can optionally print a receipt. POD information is stored in the database which enables traceability of POD information and can be provided to the customer on request.
The Telargo Service cross-references the proof of delivery data with the variety of vehicle and driver information captured by the On Board Unit and can automatically provide a comprehensive record on when and where the POD information was obtained.
Delivery reports can be generated, reporting on:
- actual time of arrival
- actual time of departure
- actual duration of stop to perform a task
- deviation from predicted times of arrival, departure and duration of stop
