Location management helps you manage your fleet by storing locations such as company offices, branches, clients and custom locations, depots, terminus, construction areas, etc. in the fleet management system. By entering relevant location information you can associate organizational data of your company and clients with the location and visualize them on the map. Users spend less time searching for the information and have more time to make critical decisions.
Location management functionality plays an important part within the Telargo fleet management system since it can be used when:
- creating reports
- defining event notifications
- defining geo-fencing
- displaying current vehicle position
- detecting of operational areas (such as deployment area)
- detecting of POD (proof of delivery)
The Telargo system incorporates all the necessary administration tools for effective location management. Locations are defined as poly-lines to define road sections and as areas that define the range of a location or the working perimeterof a particular vehicle.
Locations can be arranged in groups; each group having its locations and areas assigned.

Location groups
All locations with a corresponding location group structure can be entered through the Telargo Fleet Center manually or automatically. Automated location import into the system is enabled through our Web service using the Location format that Telargo provides for easy, error-free integration of existing data with the system. In this way, no additional work is required when referencing old locations and there are no limitations on editing/adding new locations.

Creation of area

Adding custom location
Locations can be added from all available map displays: from vehicle analysis (start/end trip point), vehicle positions, clicking on the map, and returned Address/Object/Point-of-Interest locations.
Once locations and location groups are entered they are available in the complete suite of Telargo applications (Telargo Fleet Center, Telargo Public Transit Center, Business Intelligence Service, etc.) due to the central management.
Address information and usage of locationsAn
electronic register of street addresses and point of interests is available. It allows users to search for desired information. All geo-located data in the system is compared to the street address and can be viewed on the screen (street address, closest to the vehicle's location).
For example event notifications sent to various recipient addresses using SMS messaging, e-mail or as a portal message utilize position description along with any added custom position description. For example, an SOS alert notification sent to a specific user by a SMS message will contain additional information such as “Main HQ, High Street, Milton”.
Users can search for addresses and points of interest (POI) in the Locations section of the FleetCenter. There are three search options: General search, Address search and Object (Points of Interest) search.
