Automated Check-in
One of the first things a rental client will notice is the time required to complete the necessary check-in procedures. Establishing the billing parameters and payment itself has the potential, especially during peak seasons, to become a tedious and tiresome endeavor. The Automated Check-in solution was designed with such concerns in mind.

Based on the application of the new, cost efficient G1 unit, it operates by using the ZigBee and WiFi (various 802.11) wireless communication standards. Upon vehicle's return to the car park, the OBU automatically attempts communication with the central and transfers all relevant information, such as fuel level and odometer readings, VIN, trip record and time of use, directly to the clients account. If everything is in order, this step completely eliminates the physical element of the check-out procedure. The same applies for payment procedures, provided that the client is using an electronic form of payment.

Car theft or misuse and bad credit represent an ever present risk. Additional issues may arise if the vehicle is driven in areas not covered by the current insurance policy.

As far as the charging and security related information is concerned, it is possible to quickly track and eventually disable a stolen vehicle using the OBU telemetry function. Wireless triangulation is used in areas with low signal reception. OBD-II connectivity allows for real-time engine status monitoring, enabling driving style analysis with future possibilities of dynamic rate charging. Geofence functionality enables you to clearly define high risk areas and to efficiently determine, whether they have been entered.
